Ocean Energy Conference joins the World Maritime Week (WMW) as a follow up to the already established marine energy sessions held since 2005, with the organization of Ente Vasco de Energía (EVE) and TECNALIA. BEC has been part of the organizing committee since 2013.
2021 Programme preview
SESSION 1: Strategies to support Ocean Energy Deployment
This session will cover various strategies to support the development of
marine energy, such as the EU Strategy on Offshore Renewable Energy,
approved by the European Commission in November 2020; Pillar III: Marine
Renewable Energy, as part of the Atlantic Action Plan 2.0; and the
Spanish National Plan for Marine Renewable Energy.
SESSION 2: How to finance an emerging sector
In this session, different funding opportunities will be presented for
an emerging sector, including the Horizon Europe programme, the
“Innovation Fund”, the deR and Resilience Plans or a specific mechanism
to reduce risks in ocean energy projects.
SESSION 3: Harnessing Wave Energy
This session will include presentations by leading companies that are
developing technology for the efficient use of wave energy.
